I know, two movies. Busy night for me. Anyway, this movie was pretty ridiculous. It started out like Resident Evil/28 Days later....then turned into Escape from NY/Escape from LA....and ended somewhere between a mix of Mad Max/Water World. Short synopsis is virus outbreak leads to the British government building a "big wall" around Scotland (the infected area). 30 years later the virus shows up again in London and they send in a team to go back into Scotland to find a cure because satellite photos shows survivors. Instead they run into a barbaric society a la Mad Max/Water World.
Here are my top 5 things that made no sense in the movie:
1. How does a tank that can withstand chemical weapons and 30mm rounds get its window broken by a rock? 2. How does that same tank get damaged from people throwing bottles of liquor with a fiery rag stuffed in it? It's a mofreaking tank! 3. Why did the people turn into cannibals when there are SO many cows just walking around that even the tanks keep accidently running them over? 4. How does a brand new Bentley get out chased by group of cars that look like this:
I guess strapping on a guy donned in full leather reduces drag. 5. The main character fights this knight who is completely dressed in a full set of armor. Somehow she feels no pain as she punches and kicks the guy over and over again in the head (helmet) and chest (armor) areas.
But you know what? If you can overlook all these flaws and many others, it was still pretty entertaining.

8.1 on IMDB is a bit high IMO. Not completely sure how I feel about the movie. I took me two sittings to watch it because it is a bit slow, but I think done on purpose to capture the temporary beauty of peace and tranquility for two assassins for hire. I enjoyed the dark comedy angle and I guess it had a pretty good ending but it was just so-so for me.
